About Sonia
Sonia grew up in Adelaide, then went on to live and study in London, gaining her honours degree in Physiotherapy at St Georges University of London in 2009. She went on to work in the NHS, later specialising in musculoskeletal health in private practice in Kent and London, as well as owning her own home Pilates studio in London.

Alongside working at a private sports physiotherapy clinic, she began teaching Pilates in 2014. Originally undertaking full mat & equipment training with the APPI (Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute), her curiosity and passion for Pilates grew and she decided to undertake further extensive training to fully understand the true essence of the Pilates Method. Sonia undertook a 9 month master training mentorship under the guidance of Lesley Logan, 2nd Generation teacher. Sonia is now a Comprehensively trained, 3rd Generation Classical Pilates Teacher.
This means she has trained to teach on all of the pieces of equipment invented by Joseph Pilates and teach his original method, as closely as possible. "3rd Generation Teacher" means that her teacher Lesley Logan (2nd Gen.) was trained extensively under a direct student of Joseph Pilates (Jay Grimes, Pilates Elder).

Sonia returned to Adelaide in Sept 2024 with her family, and combines her years of experience and knowledge in Physiotherapy and Pilates to help people recover, get stronger and improve at their sports or hobbies.
She also offers learning opportunities to other Pilates teachers through workshops and on a mentorship basis, providing support and advice regarding their clients with injuries or chronic conditions.

She is very passionate about helping people be the strongest version of themselves to allow them to maintain an active lifestyle, and be the best they can be. Whether that be at their preferred sport, being able to tend to their garden, or simply just feeling great in their bodies every single day.
